The Quebec Musical Improvisation League presents its 22nd season, during which four teams of four outstanding musicians compete until one team is crowned champion.

The league creates performances where music always takes center stage within a theatrical framework. The hosts’ clever and absurd humor, the referee’s grumpiness, and the unusual encounter of musicians from various professional music scenes across the region provide the setting and atmosphere for the show, making this friendly competition feel almost like a sporting event.

A referee presents themes, each with a specific title and category, which must be performed within a set time limit and with a designated number of players. After a brief period of reflection, team members either compete against one another or join forces to create a spontaneous musical work.

At the end of each improvisation, the audience is invited to vote for the team they feel is the most deserving. It’s an interactive event where virtuosity and humor come together.
