The Ligue d’improvisation musicale de Québec (LIMQ) presents its 21st season, where 4 teams of 4 outstanding musicians compete until the crowning of the winning team. The league features performances where music always takes center stage in a theatrical setting. The absurd and intelligent humor of the hosts, the bad temper of the referee, and the unique collaboration of musicians from various professional scenes in the region provide a framework and atmosphere that make this friendly competition feel almost like a sporting event. A referee proposes themes with a specific title and category, which must be performed within a limited time by a designated number of players. After a brief reflection period, the team members face off or join forces to create a spontaneous musical composition. At the end of each improvisation, the audience is invited to vote for the team they believe deserves to win. It's an interactive event where virtuosity and humor blend seamlessly.
